Carpet beetle bites carpet beetles are not common insects in homes and buildings where good hygiene predominates.
Rarely sensitized individuals may develop dermatitis due to the insects crawling over the skin.
While carpet beetles don t bite or feed on humans their larvae can irritate the skin.
Bed bugs actually create red itchy welts on the skin from biting you while the carpet beetle doesn t bite at all but causes a similar red itchy welt due to an allergic reaction from the prickly little hairs on the carpet beetle larvae pictured center.

However most spider bites do not require medical treatment and you can reduce any itch or pain with the same over the counter methods for other bug bites.
