There are two ways to handle the situation described on the previous slide with one. If the surface of the carpet feels smooth when your hand is moving away from the window then the pile is running in the right direct. Sometimes in cases where the pile has reversed apparently randomly on a piece of carpet the section of the carpet where the pile has reversed can look wet. Generally seams should run in the same direction as most foot traffic.

The pile should run away from any windows. If gratings are located in walking surfaces then they shall have spaces no greater than 1 2 in 13 mm wide in one direction.
