I m wondering if it would be ok to keep corys in a tank with a glosso carpet and very little substrate showing.
Carpet plants and corys.
Picking out the right carpet plant for your aquarium is certainly tough especially when trying to select the right plants for beginners.
Carpet plants also offer an alternative to floating or vertically growing plants in their aquarium.
I have no idea if the corys will still feed on the carpet plant or if they need half the tank or the whole tank to be exposed with substrata on the floor.
The home depot carries a wide range of carpet choices to fit any room lifestyle budget and timeline.
I guess if you had a dense riccia lawn held in place with netting or something they d have more problems but even then they take their food from the substrate and the lawn would in effect be the substrate.
The tank will be a present for my brother on christmas and we are both relatively new to this whole aquarium hobby.
M trying to settle on a good choice of carpeting type plant for the forground but im wondering wether or not having corys in the tank affects the suitability of any given plant.
Additionally your aquarium lighting will affect every plant differently with some plants thriving in low light situations better than others.

Corys will grub around amongst the plants they don t have a problem with a normal setup.
Ideally id like to use 1 of the following glossostigma elatinoides echinodorus tenellus eleocharis acicularis.
